Actives

What are Actives?

Actives are the key functional ingredients in skincare formulations, such as moisturizers, scrubs, and masks, that deliver targeted benefits. These, sometimes, scientifically backed compounds are responsible for claims like "reducing the appearance of fine lines," "promoting skin cell turnover," "boosting collagen production," or "minimizing dark spots, cellulite, and stretch marks." In short, they’re the powerhouses that make a product effective. You’ll see these ingredients highlighted on the label that grabs your attention and for good reason, because they do what they say they are going to do.

Our Commitment to Efficacy:

We formulate our products with actives at their, sometimes, research-backed effective concentrations, never diluted to cut costs. Unfortunately, some brands list actives on labels but use them at levels too low to deliver results. With our products, you can trust that:

1. Transparency is key: Most of our actives appear above vitamin E oil on ingredient lists which is effective at very low percentages).

2. Research-driven usage rate: If an active works best at a minimal concentration (e.g., peptides or certain acids), it may appear lower on the list(below vitamin E oil), but rest assured, it’s included at an efficacious level.

Of note, there are MANY ingredients in cosmetics that are not heavily researched but have proven efficacy in consumers (i.e. certain vitamin C derivatives). In this case, we follow our suppliers' guidelines on their safe and suggested usage rate.

A Note on Safe & Informed Use:

While actives offer remarkable benefits, they may not suit everyone. Always:

  1. Research ingredients to understand their effects and if it will target whatever skin concern you may have.
  2. Consult with your healthcare provider, especially if you have sensitive skin, allergies, or specific conditions.
  3. Patch-test ALL new products to ensure compatibility.

We prioritize both efficacy and safety, so you can feel confident in your skincare choices.
